Sunset is just beginning over the town of Ponyville. However, while most would be starting to turn in for the night, a single pony is at the edge of the Everfree Forest, taking one last look through a pair of saddlebags to make sure he has everything he needs packed away.
Star Gazer had been getting ready for this little adventure the last few days; his last journey into the forest haden't ended exactly how he'd expected. However, this time he was going in prepared, with a goal in mind; the Ancient Palace of the Royal Pony Sisters. The last time the place had been visited was some time ago, but he was going for a reason of his own. Supposedly, the castle was home to the first star charts in pony history, created by princess Luna herself and said to still be in good condition. Any astronomer would give a front and back leg for this kind of thing, and he had to at least try to get at them.
Nico was walking through the forest his parents had let him go out for a while they to be cack in a few hours but he lost track of time and was kinda lost even though he didnt want to admit it. He had seen an animal come in here and decided to go after to see if it had friends... He loved animals but when got in he lost sight of the creature. Now he couldnt find his way out.
What the hell was i thinking chasing that stupid animal. Now im lost and if i ever find my way out mom and dad are gonna freaking kill me. He thought to himself.
Star Gazer headed into the forest, feeling he was ready for for anything he might encounter this time. He had gotten a fare ways in, making sure to mark a trail back to town, when he heard something nearby. He ducks into a nearby bush and pokes his eyes out, looking for any dangerous creatures. However, he doesn't see anything of the sort. Instead, he seems something totally different; another pony. He slips out of the bush and slowly approaches him, "Um, hello there. I thought I was the only one who was in here."
"My name's Star Gazer. Good to meet you," he answers. "And if your lost, I could easily lead you back to town. I got lost here once myself, and I got smart since then; I have a path back to town marked clearly for when I'm finished with what I'm doing in here."
"Oh, uh... sure, I guess," he says after some quick thought. The colt seemed pretty eager, and it was always more fun when you had someone along for the adventure, even if it might not be the greatest. "I'm heading in to find the Ancient Castle of the Royal Pony Sisters. There's something in there I want to get my hooves on."
"You've seen it before, really?" he asked, a bit surprised. He didn't think many would venture that deep in willingly. But then, he was an adventurer, the astronomer reminded himself. "Well, is there any way you could lead me there then?"
""Thanks,' he says happily, "Lead the way then." He could feel himself welling up with excitement. He could find this place sooner then he thought he would, and in turn, what he had been searching for.
