Rouge sighed and looked around last time he was in here it was when he was trying to find Sephera. He kept moving forward he was a good way into he forest no one would spot him unless they were brave enough to come this far. he smirked and sat, he needed alone time he hadn't had it in awhile.
He glanced at his sword his talent a very good talent it came in handy when in this dangerous place. He lifted it out of it's holder with its magic and put it in the ground beside him for easy reach just in case something came along and decided to try to kill him or make him a snack. He looked at it and sighed, it needed sharpened it was dull he laid down and sighed closing his eyes.
His thoughts going to Sephera she was so young and that damned disease took her from the only thing he had left of his family and she was gone. He growled. She didn't even get to see her 9th birthday, Why? He thought she was so little... He hated this world it was so messed up... But he couldn't stop the cruel things that happened everyday all he could do was watch and ignore. Hoping it wasn't him it happened to.
Bolt had wandered into the Everfree Forest, because... Well... Did she have to have a buckin' reason? Geez... Actually, truth be told, Bolt had been fired from her stall job. And she wasn't too happy. Blowing off a bit of steam in a forest full of deadly creatures ought to help. If anything, it'd weed out the monster problem this place had.
Whose brilliant idea was it to place a town right next to a tree filled with almost every monster known to pony?! They must've had too many bucks to the head... Ugh, if she kept this going, Sweet Apple Acres' lingo would burn into her vocabulary forever. She needed to stop, maybe rest. Resting is nice.
In the exact clearing she chose to rest in, a pony with a sword sat there. "Uh, hey... Mind if I sit here, or you gonna poke me with your knife?" She really was in a crabby mood. Well, she was unemployed without a place to stay. Bolt decided to remain crabby.
Rouge looked over to see a mare he sighed He could never get peace and quiet. he got up put his sword back into it's holder with his magic and walked a few feet away and sat back down. "Sure... Whatever...." he said in a bored tone putting his sword in the ground beside him like he had it before some pony came along.
He looked around he had heard a bush rustle not to far from where he was sitting an it was getting closer. Great just what I need first my peace gets interrupted now a creature wants to make a snack out of me.... Can my day get any worse. He put his sword in his mouth just in case and turned toward the nose.
Bolt sat down, but paused at the sound coming from the bushes. The Everfree forest was, like she said, home to pretty much every monster known to pony. So, a rustling in the bushes was probably not a cute little bunny. She jumped to her hooves, her wings snapping open, ready for danger. She wanted to say something, but was also hoping whatever was in the bush didn't know they were there. She just kept her wings erect, ever ready.
The rustling started moving back towards another place away from Rouge and his unwanted company he growled softly and sat down putting his sword back in the ground he looked at the mare that was with him. May as well be friendly "Hi..." He said and waved his hoof in a hello. "Name's Rouge" he said in a bored but serious tone a tone that meant he didn't want to be taken lightly.
He sighed and closed his eyes for a minute hoofed the ground making deep marks in the dirt then he looked at the mare. "Name?" he stated more then asked. he rolled his neck and continued hoofing the ground he was bored and not in a very good mood. Then again he was never in a good mood these days.
Bolt watched him hoof the ground, which she thought made him look a bit uneasy. "My name's Lightning Bolt. Most ponies call me Bolt." Not that many ponies had actually spoken to her in awhile. She missed her friends, and was glad for the small amount of words she was sharing with this, "Rouge".
Bolt looked at his sword, a bit interested in the blade. Most ponies didn't prefer using weapons. Most wars were fought with pies and cake and parties, which to her didn't make much sense. It was less violent, but didn't really make sense like she said. "So, you carry a sword? I don't see many ponies with those... Most prefer having someone magical help protect them..."
"It's my talent believe it or not.." he said and looked up at Bolt. "See.." he said as he turned and snapped open his wings to show his cutie mark. Two swords crossed over each other. "Yeah I'm also an Allicorn, pretty good with my magic but better with this." he said motioning to his sword.
Bolt hadn't noticed he was an alicorn. She was out of it today. But his cutie mark did answer her question. "Yeah, my talent is lightning. I can manipulate it, convert it into energy, do almost anything with it... Not much use on the ground though." She gave a chuckle, but her heart didn't seem in it. Bolt was pathetic.
You get fired and haven't seen your friends in awhile, and this is how you act?! You're falling apart! You can't let other ponies become who you are! You are Bolt! You have confidence! You're crabby at times! You're the greatest flyer in Equestria! Now quit moping! Go do something! "You wanna do something? You know, something exciting?" She almost surprised herself, the volume and power in her voice almost tenfold from the words she had already spoken to Storme.
Bolt looked around trying to find something. She found herself listing off random things. "Fight monsters, flying race, cave spelunking, tomb raiding, slay a dragon, go-" Bolt probably would've continued in the crazed list, but she had realized her eyes had gone cross-eyed. "Uh... That's not good..." She blinked several times, her eyes still in the same spots.
She whacked herself in the head, but nothing changed. Bolt even gave herself a right hook, knocking her to the ground. "Please help me! I don't want to be like Derpy!"
She yelped in pain, rubbing the area between her eyes. "It didn't do anything but hurt!" Bolt frowned, staring at the ground. "Maybe you could use some magic..." Hopefully this didn't turn her into a chicken or something... That was ridiculous, but then again, her eyes were derping. Anything seemed possible with derpy eyes. Geez, she was psyching herself out...
"Heh no problem." He said and backed up a little and lowered his head his horn glowing the beam from his horn going to Bolt. He knew it would work but just in case he didn't get over confident he just hoped it would, seeing he hadn't used his magic in a while.
She made a face, as her eyes swirled around her head. Then, they snapped back into place. "Thanks... Didn't mean for that to happen..." Bolt would've asked him if he wanted to just go see a movie. Which was daring, even for her. She didn't even know why she was going to ask. She stumbled over herself when asking somepony she actually liked to do something like that, so did she think that somepony she didn't even know would be better? She'd never find out.
Suddenly, two griffins burst through the trees. One grabbed Bolt and started flying away, while the other stood his ground, glaring at Storme. "You don't have to get involved in this, just move on."
"Oh hell no" he said grabbed his sword slashed at the one on the ground "Stay down or your dead!" He staid over the sword and took to the sjy to get Bolt I'm coming Bolt.. He thought and flew shooting beams of magic at the Griffin.
